not microwave safe, chip easily
I love the look of the dishes, they are beautiful. We found out the hard way, they are not microwave safe. Of course, the mistake was mine to assume that the dishes would be microwave safe in this day and age. They aren't bone china, so I was surprised to find they didn't work in the microwave. They chip easily, too. The plates don't really chip, but the bowls do. Be very careful. I will replace broken, or ruined dishes with another brand that is microwave safe and similar. Plus, the plates show scratches very easily from regular wear and tear. There are only two adults eating on these, and we are very careful. I will continue to buy the big serving dishes, but not the everyday pieces.
