My new best friend
I've been lamenting the lack of competition for Kitchenaid mixers in the US for several years and have waited for this machine to become available stateside ever since it was introduced in the UK. The bells and whistles are surprisingly functional, the induction burner being the most innovative of them, but at the end of the day I wanted this product for the higher wattage motor, which is beefier than the Kitchenaid Pro and on the way to the power of a Hobart. I think they had to dumb it down some for the US market as the equivalent machine in the UK has a 1500W motor whereas my owner's manual says the US version is equipped with 1150W, but it's still a noticeable improvement over the KA Pro model, based on my experiment of running them side-by-side on max power. (It's ironic that our country trusts us with assault weapons but not high wattage mixers.)
