Very glad I bought this set and not one of the alternatives
I am 55 and lived with do-it-yourself furniture all my life, from pine boards on cement blocks to a variety of pressboard laminated veneer pieces from Wal-Mart and Ikea. This is the real deal, real wood throughout even though I can see the mitred finger joints where the wood is joined together to make the tabletop. It went together very nicely, very solid once the hex head screws were snugged up tight. I love the pub height since I am not a sit down at dinner kind of diner, more like "Let's eat! And see what game is on TV" kind of guy. The table I was concerned about since there are no lower rails to stabilize the piece, but once I had the double screws set on each leg it turned out to be completely square and solid - no wobble for weak or uneven legs. The stools are easy to slip on and off (I'm 6'0") This looks like it could survive a long time and still be serviceable.

There are no furniture glides included for any of the legs, so I will add some from Lowe's,...
