Helps if you cant read your test kit
I was having problems reading the chemical test kits. I kept getting every color on the chart with the same sample. Even when I would settle on one color, I would use a test strip, and come up with a different pH level. Finally, I got sick of dealing with that and wanted to take control of my tank, so I bought this. Some reviews said it was difficult to calibrate, but I felt it was pretty straight forward and simple. It does however take a little bit of time though. Take your time letting the monitor settle in the calibration fluids, if you don't let it settle, your calibration will be off. Mine works great, and now I know for sure what my pH level is!
My only advice about getting this pH monitor is to decide if you may want to get a controller at some point. After 2 weeks, I was enlightened to the reef keeper controllers, and will be purchasing one soon. They come with pH monitors in the controllers, so it would be pointless to buy this, and then get another one with the...
