I have to admit I am not a China expert. I bought this because the pattern was relatively modern and I liked the colors.The price on the set is very good. This is a set to purchase to use not to display. This is a set that you should not be afraid to bring out and enjoy. I didn't want a set of China that was so expensive I was going to panic every time I used it. This is not a high end set of China. There are small flaws. The colors are not as vibrant as the photos. You can wash this set in the dishwasher. I was able to afford 3 sets for a place setting of 24. I would not have been able to afford to do that with a "department store" set of China. I am pleased with my purchase. I would purchase again. Understand that I wanted a set to use for holidays and Sunday dinners. I wanted to use it not panic or take out a loan for dinnerware. I recommend this set if you are looking for a set to use. I would not recommend this if your peers are porcelain experts and are people who look for...
