The unit arrived in like new condition; the bulk of the unit is solid metal and not a scratch on it - in fact anything metal was flawless. The plastic "lid" that seals while juicing has a few minor marks on it, but only if you look at in the right light and at an angle -- my guess, the plastic had one or two runs through a dishwasher.
